Luke 17:3-4 "Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him."
FORGIVENESS IS A TWO WAY STREET!
It is like a gift, it cannot be given if it is neither desired or received! Most people have a tendency to state that they've already forgiven someone of an offense before it is warranted.
These intentions are good but what I respectfully suggest is that they have gotten over or through the offense committed against them. There is only one road to forgiveness and it is the way that God forgives! He is our example! God cannot forgive anyone that does not first ask for it! If this were not true then no one would be lost.
Though it may sound harsh at first thought, what good is a gift that is not wanted? The one who desires forgiveness is truly sorry for their offense and will ask! This is the reason Jesus came!
